Call for Papers

Present your work at the XXIII FIT World Congress

We are delighted to invite you to submit your abstracts for the upcoming XXIII FIT World Congress. We welcome practitioners and members of academia and industry to submit their original work and presentation proposals for consideration. Submissions should adhere to the criteria set by FIT and will undergo a double-blind review process.

Submitted abstracts can be considered for both oral presentations and for poster presentations. Accepted abstracts will be published on the Congress website, providing an excellent opportunity for your work to gain widespread recognition.

Topics of Interest

We welcome submissions on a wide range of themes, including but not limited to:

  • Future-proofing the profession: New skills in training and professional development
  • Sustainability of the profession
  • Traditional human skills, augmented human skills, culture, and creativity as foundations for translation, interpreting and terminology in the AI era
  • AI, Technology and the profession

  • Indigenous language translation and interpreting, preservation, revitalisation and culture
  • Audiovisual translation and accessibility, sign language
  • Literary translation and copyright
  • Language rights, human rights and AI/technology
  • Language policy and multilingualism

Submission Guidelines

  • All abstracts must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
  • At least some findings should be unpublished at the time of abstract submission.
  • Abstracts should be written in English, Spanish or French.
  • The presenter agrees to provide FIT with a picture and short biography for communication and promotion purposes, to be submitted together with their abstract. 
  • A maximum of three presenters may deliver a joint presentation.
  • All sessions of FIT World Congress 2025 will be live streamed and recorded in audio and/or visual form.
  • Please note that the abstract submission must adhere to a strict word limit of 250 words. Please structure your abstract as follows: Introduction - Objectives- Description - Conclusion/Takeaway for the audience.
  • All presenting authors of oral and poster presentations are expected to register and attend the XXIII FIT World Congress in person.
  • Costs associated with the submission and presentation of an abstract are the responsibility of the presenter.

Review Process

All submissions will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process.   

Important Dates

Submission Deadline: 21 November 2024 

Notification of Acceptance on abstract outcomes: January  2025

Early Bird Registration Deadline: 16 April 2025

Submission of Presentation to FIT: no later than 15 August 2025
